Austria proposes a €2 customs charge on a per parcel basis for low‑value imports

27 May 2026

Austria is proposing to impose a €2 charge on e-commerce low-value imports (under €150) entering Austria from outside the European Union from October 2026.

The charge would apply on a per parcel delivered basis and would be payable by the seller of the goods, not the logistics provider or customer.

This comes just months after the European Union confirmed its own €3 customs levy on low-value imports to be introduced from July 2026.
