UPDATE: EU confirms e-commerce VAT reforms delay to July 2021

30 June 2020

The European Commission has confirmed that it will delay the introduction of the EU VAT e-commerce package from 1 January 2021 to 1 July 2021.

It is hoped that the introduction of this package will reduce the amount of VAT fraud, which is prevalent in this sector and currently stands at approx. €5billion per year.
