European Commission publishes plans for rollout ViDA reforms

3 October 2025

In September, the European Commission released its Implementation Strategy for VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA), outlining the actions it will take to support businesses and Member States with the rollout of the ViDA reforms.

The ViDA package was adopted in March 2025 and consists of three key pillars:

  • Digital reporting and e-invoicing requirements.
  • Making digital platforms responsible for collecting VAT.
  • Introducing a way for businesses to operate in the EU with a single VAT registration.
