European Union lowers eBook VAT

30 September 2016

At the beginning of September the European Commission confirmed plans to bring forward legislation to permit reduced VAT rates on e-books.

It is hoped that the proposed legislation will be published in October 2016 which could then mean that countries may be able to cut their electronic book VAT rates during 2017.
