Hungary reduces VAT rate on some goods and services

On 1 January 2017 Hungary introduced a lower VAT rate of 18% on:

Internet access services – However the standard VAT rate of 27% will still apply to any other kind of telecommunication, broadcasting or electronic service.

Restaurant services including food and non-alcoholic drinks – This will be further reduced to 5% from 1 January 2018.

The VAT rate on basic food stuffs including poultry meat, fresh eggs and milk was also reduced to 5%.
