2 November 2016

From 1 January 2017 Romania will reduce the VAT charged on sports and fitness-related services from the 20% standard rate to the reduced rate of 9%.

10 other EU member states currently charge a reduced rate of VAT on sports services and this is in an effort to try to control the growing problem of obesity.
