Slovakia proposes the introduction of mandatory e-invoicing for B2B transactions from January 2027

1 May 2025

Slovakia has become the latest EU country to propose the introduction of a mandatory electronic invoicing regime for B2B transactions, from 1 January 2027. A public consultation has been launched with the first draft law on the reforms expected to be published during the summer of 2025.

If the new regime is accepted, all VAT-registered companies will be required to issue electronic invoices when selling to other businesses.
