UPDATE: European Council agrees to extend generalised temporary reverse charge

14 July 2022

The European Council has confirmed that the option for EU member states to use the generalised temporary reverse charge will be extended to 31 December 2026.

This was originally planned to end on 31 July 2022, however, to further prevent VAT fraud, the European Council agreed to the extension.
