Kuwait approves draft VAT laws

Kuwait has accepted the draft implementation of VAT and excise laws set by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which set the VAT rate at 5% in the country.

The GCC consists of six countries (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman) who have all agreed to implement a harmonised VAT regime by next year.
