Netherlands introduce reverse charge on telecom services

31 May 2017

In an effort to prevent VAT fraud a new domestic reverse charge rule will be introduced on the sale of telecom services to businesses in the Netherlands.

This measure will mean that the providers of telecom services will no longer have to charge VAT on their supplies to other business customers, as it will now be the business customer’s responsibility to account for the VAT on these services.

It is likely that this new measure will be introduced from 1 June 2017.
