Nova Scotia to decrease its standard Harmonised Sales Tax (HST) rate from April 2025

12 March 2025

From 1 April 2025, the Canadian province of Nova Scotia will reduce the HST rate applied in the province from 15% to 14%.

There are no other HST rate changes in any other Canadian provinces.

What to do next?

If you are selling to customers in Nova Scotia where you are charging HST, you will need to ensure that the correct rate of HST is applied on sales from 1 April 2025.

We recommend that you do this by amending your accounting system and current processes to ensure that the lower HST rates are used on sales invoices issued from this date.
