Swiss e-book VAT reduced to 2.5%

31 October 2017

From 1 January 2018, the Swiss government will reduce the VAT rate on e-books from 8% to 2.5%.

This will bring the VAT rate of electronic books in line with that of printed books in the country. The rate change will coincide with the standard VAT rate reduction from 8% to 7.7%, which was announced last month.
