UPDATE: Poland release electronic invoice software (KSeF)

14 July 2022

Poland has released its e-invoicing platform (KSeF) to allow businesses to test electronic business-to-business invoices.

KSeF will allow both resident and non-resident companies that sell to VAT registered businesses in Poland to declare sales to the Polish tax authorities via this new e-invoicing platform. The tax authorities will then digitally verify these invoices and confirm that they can be issued to the customer. This will replace the current process of sending invoices directly to customers.

Poland previously planned to make this a mandatory process for all businesses from April 2023, however, the EU has provisionally confirmed that Poland can impose KSeF between 1 January 2024 and 31 December 2026.

Poland hopes this new invoice-reporting regime will help to prevent VAT fraud in the country.
